The cnn.com editorial, writen by Douglas Rushkoff for cnn was, at the very least condescending in its tone.
There may be a few protesters there for the atmosphere and some who don't know why they are there. It is very reminiscent of the protests of the 60's.
I have been watching and reading. 'Occupy is a phrase, NOT a phase. It's true. The sign being held by the young man in the picture says it all. Some say the protesters don't know what they want. I think they do. They want what most of us, 99percenters, want.
The workers for large corporations have been getting the shaft for the longest time. Now, even though the higher ups,the CEO's of gigantic companies are pulling in many millions, most of which is ending up in satin pockets, the very people helping to make them their money, are being fired, layed off, having hours cut to the very bone. Cut any more, and that is the death knell for company insurance, which will add to the government's already overextended budgets of unemployment insurance ,or medicaid.
There are the multi -multi -milllionaires who obviously feel they are far above the 99% percenters in this country. They shoud be paying their fair share, some percentage of their income to the I. R.S. That can Lighten the load for everyone. The TGop politicians in office, will have none of it. They don't even want to hear about the Obama jobs bill. They work directly for the monster companies, as do some democrates. I wont be biased here. I am not a wet eared babe in the woods.
Warren Buffet is an absolute dear. He knows he should be taxed. But I wonder if he knows he CAN give money to the government. Don't wait to be asked. Just DO it.
If I can feel the level of frustration everyone who is human should be able to as well. The tension in the air of the United States, is so thick, one can cut it with the Preverbial, knife.
It is friction, and it will blow.
To many of us need health care.
To many need loans which the stingy banks will not give.
To many need jobs, to pay basic bills, and keep families alive, fed and happy.
To many live paycheck to paycheck, hand to mouth, with nothing left for recreation, or vacation, even when their vacation time rolls around once a year.
The American dream is now the American nightmare. Owning a house, has become owning a pit, selling a house can make you rip the hair from your head.
It is just to many, to much, the seams are busting. You can see it,and you can feel it.
